All American Rejects Free Show - 12/16/08

The American rock band, the All-American Rejects, will be performing a free show on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Hollywood & Highland Complex. The track features legendary superstars such as Mariah Carey, Mary J. Also coming to the Wiltern this summer, Fergie and Natasha Bedingfield have teamed up with Pepsi: Smash to perform a very exclusive show at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. If you remember, the Pepsi: Smash Company recieved a lot of recognition in 2006 for hosting Mariah Carey's very first concert since her Charmbracelet tour. And, just like the Mariah concert, the only way to get into the venue and see the show, which takes place August 30, 2008, you have to win the tickets or find a scalper selling their tickets. As of today, you can win by going to the Pepsi: Smash website, calling KIIS-FM, or through Craigslist, where the tickets are selling for about $65 each.

Common & N*E*R*D take the stage

It was announced a few short weeks ago that legendary rapper and performer, Common would be embarking on a short national tour to help promote his latest studio album and to raise money for his foundation, The Common Ground Foundation. But, less than 24 hours ago, a rep of his secretly announced that skater-hip-hop trio, N.E.R.D. would be supporting Common in the North American leg of the tour. For all the Los Angeles and surrounding area fans of these two performers, you can catch them September 14, 2008 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, or on September 15, 2008 at the Grove in Anaheim. Well the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA, hosted on July 23, 2008 MTV2's and Time Warner Cables sponsored event Road To VMA's where aspiring L.A. talent got the opportunity to compete in a music competition for a spot to be featured in the 2008 Video Music Awards. The event was taped at the famous Roxy Theatre in Hollywood, CA, and the competitors - The Ruse, U-N-I, and End Roulette - were judged by celebrity panelists Kat Von D, Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio, and The Game. The show was great and the bands were amazing, but a real downer that night was The Game's personality. Judging by his facial expressions and his constant textingon his iPhone, it appeared as though he did not want to be there. The only time he looked away from his phone was when it was his time to speak and when a begging fan managed to get his attention and ask for a photo (but trust me, as soon as the photo was done and over with, it was back to the iPhone). Kat Von D and Matt Skiba were much nicer and more loyal to their fans, stopping to take photos and sign autographs with whomever asked. You would think being from Cali himself and being recognized by the fans who support him, The Game would be a bit more courteous. Anyways, just thought I'd share.

Robin Thicke is coming to the House!

Robin Thicke has just announced that he is doing a House of Blues tour beginning this summer. He will be performing hits from his last studio album as well as upcoming hits from his new studio album. No word yet about any opening acts, but he is known for putting on a decent show.

Mariah Carey is Out Of Hiding!

Since ceasing promotion in the U.S. of her much anticipated studio album, E=MC2, and avoiding public appearances after her marriage to comedian Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey is making her television debut on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. The show will feature a live mini-concert where she will no doubtedly perform her current top 3 singles, "Touch My Body," "Bye Bye," and "I'll Be Loving You Long Time." The big question now is whether or not this legendary artist will also be giving an interview to address her new married life and rumors of trouble in paradise. The show will take place July 31, 2008 in Hollywood, CA.

Making The Tour in Los Angeles

Following the success of both bands' albums, Diddy had only one thing in sight for his music groups: a successful national tour. The tour, simply titled The MAKING THE BAND TOUR, ended with a bang as Danity Kane, Day26, Donnie Klang, and Bad Boy Recording Artist, Cheri Dennis, swept into the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Danity Kane who was formed in 2006 after successful completing MTV's reality television competition, Making the Band 3, had toured with several headlining acts including, Christina Aguilera and Black Eyed Peas, but following their successful record sales (both their debut and sophomore albums went no. 1) a headlining tour of their own was a must. They are joined by Diddy's second group to be formed in front of the eyes of millions of Americans, Day26--an all-male R&B group whose album also debuted at no. 1--as well as the first Bad Boy artist to recieve a recording contract following the Making the Band competition.

The concert was a short 2 1/2 hours but the fans did not seem to mind. Cheri Dennis performed a short-but-sweet set getting the crowd pumped for the rest of the evening. Donnie Klang, who has yet to release a studio album, performed only 2 songs before leaving the stage. He later rejoined his fellow cast members, Day 26 to perform an acapella version of "Exclusive" with the group. Just before the Danity Kane took the stage, the one-and-only Diddy, surprises the crowd as he walks on stage to thank for the crowd for all their support, address the "bitchassness" in America, and to introduce his successful female act. Wearing doll-like outfits, appropriate for the theme of their recent album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, the girls glide across the stage showing the crowd that they are "Bad Girls." Their set is filled with new songs from their newest album, with only "Showstopper" being the only track included from their first album.

Pussycat Dolls Premiere New Single Exclusively to L.A. audience

The all-female pop group who burst onto the music scene as recording artists in 2004 is back in L.A. to premiere yet another hit. The Pussycat Dolls have decided to premiere their newest single, "When I Grow Up," on one of the most popular late night talkshows, Jimmy Kimmel Live, May 20, 2008. This is the girls' first studio recording since the release of their highly successful debut album, PCD, in September 2005, and will be featured on the groups' second studio album entitled, Doll Domination, due out September 16, 2008. The girls delivered a strong performance with their sexy dance moves and lead vocals from frontwoman, Nicole Scherzinger. Though they performed a short 3-song set of "When I Grow Up," "Don'tcha" and "Buttons," the girls proved that despite having a short set, they can get their fans pumped as the hundreds of fans screamed and sang wildly along to their hits. If that was not enough, the girls were not shy when it came to giving back to their fans. They each created fans, took photos, and signed autographs before leaving to prepare for their next show. Pussycat Dolls creator and manager, Robin Antin, was also present to oversee the performance and greet fans.

Paramore gives Kimmel a Bamboozle pre-show preview

The breakout rock group of the year Paramore led a high energy set as they took the Pontiac Garage Stage April 4, 2008, just 24-hours before their scheduled appearance at this year's Bamboozle Left. The band, which is led by front woman Hayley Williams, performed a strong set for both new and old fans from their two albums. Following the success of their debut album, All We Know Is Falling, their sophomore album, RIOT!, earned the band a sold out world tour and a strong fanbase. Despite the slight chill in the air, the band took to the stage and belted out the following hits, "That's What You Get," "Misery Business," "Pressure," "Here We Go Again," "CrushCrushCrush," "Born For This," and "For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optomistic." Paramore ended their set by thanking Jimmy Kimmel and, surprise celeb audience member Sarah Silverman, for having the band on the show and invited the crowd to catch them at Bamboozle Left the following evening.

Last night, at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel, thinks got pretty ugly when two women were caught talking trash to Philadelphia rapper Eve. Apparently, the altercation got physical and ended in the rapper pushing one woman down a flight of stairs. There are no reports of injury or the words the two women exchanged, but damn! I guess Eve's still got the hood in her.

Man, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have way too much money on their hands. It has been reported that the two are throwing money left and right in order to make their twins' lives "perfect"! Rumor has it that the two have hired a masseuse and colour therapist for their newborn twins, Max and Emme, along with two Shetland ponies, diamond-encrusted rattles, 600-count Egyptian cotton for the baby’s cots for their Los Angeles home. Why the hell these kids need these things at 2 weeks I old, I have no idea.

A source said: “Jennifer has gone all-out to give the twins an amazing childhood. She hired a colour therapist to paint the nursery a beautiful aquamarine and light blue - colours which are supposed to have intelligence-boosting properties. She listened to classical music all through her pregnancy and is now having music piped through to the nursery to help relax the babies. She has hired a professional baby masseuse to come in once or twice a week.”

J-Lo has also allegedly turned into a “germaphobe” since becoming a mother and has banned flowers and presents from the twins’ nursery to ensure it remains spotless.

The source added to Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “She is also paranoid about hygiene. The twins’ wing is totally sterile and all flowers and presents are stored in a separate area so they don’t contaminate the babies’ area. It may sound excessive but she only has her kids’ best interests at heart and wants to give them the start in life she never had.”

Recently, I found a song on youtube that must have been premiered on KIIS-FM recently by The Hills regular Heidi Montag. Like her first single, yes I said single, in case you missed it on the radio, it's because the song sank faster than the Titanic, especially because it featured her big headed boy-toy Spencer Pratt. Still, this didn't stop Heidi from premiering a new duet on KIIS-FM, this time with train-wreck Britney Spears. The song is called DRAMATIC. The Game is Over

On March 2, 2008, Compton's very own rap star The Game turned himself in to begin serving a 60-day jail sentence as a part of a plea deal in which he pleaded no contest to felony possession of a firearm in a school zone. The charges stem from a 2007 basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex in Compton, where the Game alleged beat up another player - then he brandished a pistol and threatening to kill him.In addition to the 60-day sentence, The Game also received 150 hours of community service and three years probation. Let's hope that the butterfly tattooed on his face is covered up enough to keep him from becoming someone's toy in their prison games.

Janet In-Store Appearance

As previously posted, Janet Jackson made a special in-store appearance at the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood, CA, last night. Not feeling the hair, but I bet it was a great night. Did I mention that she performed a free concert in Hollywood too? Video will be up shortly. As if this was not enough to keep Janet busy for the day, Miss Jackson also made an appearance on the Larry King live show for a short interview where she acknowledged rumors of a Jackson Family Reunion Tour.

“I would love to do it. I get my brothers on the phone all the time. I’m the biggest fan of the the Jackson Five. I have conference calls all the time pushing them to do a huge tour. I tell them if they did, I would love to open for them. They would love to, but one of them is on the fence. You have to respect that. Michael’s worked very hard at his solo career. I don’t know. Maybe he’ll come around. I’m still kind of working on him.”

That would be one hell of a tour, not to mention music history.

O'Brien taking over Leno's Turf

It's finally about to be official. Conan O'Brien will be taking over Jay Leno's job as the Tonight Show host next year. Apparently, Leno is not happy about this decision. Jay Leno has been the show's host since 1992, a 16 year run. I'm sad. I thought Leno was a good host, didn't care for his jokes or monologues, but I doubt Conan can do any better.

Paris Needs A New Bestie...It could be you!

Wow. Paris Hilton is doing another reality TV show. But this time, she will be without her long-time on-again-off-again friend, Nicole Richie. No, the two haven't broken up they're friendship again, but Paris and Nicole have agreed that Nicole needs to spend time alone with her and her new baby. "Of course, my real best friend will always be Nicole. She's like my sister, but now she's busy with her daughter, Harlow." Anyways, Paris' show is set to take place in a local L.A. sorority where Paris will be experiencing all that a college sorority has to offer. "I never got to go to college and this will be my chance to be in a sorority and have that experience." On the show, there's a little twist. The group of girls will be competing to become the heiress' new best friend. Haha, great grand prize right?! I give the friendship a week, two at most.

Somebody needs to humble Gary Busey before his ego makes his head explode. How can a guy who hasn't been in a successful music since Jesus walked the Earth be so mean to people and talk so much trash about others? Man, he needs a rude-awakening. Avril Drama: No One Wants Her Tickets or Her House

Avril Lavigne is facing a lot of hardship nowadays. Perez Hilton thinks she's a douchebag, her Best Damn Tour has the worst damn ticket sales, and now she can't even sell her Mulholland estate. According to Perez, her house has been on the market for quite some time, but the sale has been a no go. Initially listed at $7 million, the estate has dropped to a whopping $5.8 million. That's a pretty big price cut: nearly $2,000,000. Poor Avril.

Michael Jackson may be the king of pop, but not even this king could hold on to the NEVERLAND ranch. Maybe if he learned to keep his hands to himself, he might be able to. Anyways, I digress. The popstar's multi-million dollar estate has been foreclosed and is scheduled to be auctioned off soon, unless Michael can come up with $24,525,906.61 soon. If you're interested in living in the Santa Barbara area and witness where so many of Michael's little-boy-dreams came true, this may be the place for you. If you hate The Hills most notorious couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, I've got great news for you (or completely horrible news, however you want to look at it). The two are in the process of creating a video game! What's so great about this? According to Spencer,

“You can definitely play as us or you can play against us,” Pratt said. “You can even torture me.” He said “there's going to be two versions: the adult version and the one for minors,” adding, “just be ready, that's all I have to say.”
